A colorful, playful interior aesthetic draws inspiration from the creative cake designs for this dessert bakery in SE Portland. 

Unicorn Bake Shop hired Propel Studio as architect to design their new commercial tenant interior in the empty retail space of an existing mixed-use building. Unicorn asked for creative immersive customer experience for her decorated cake and desserts business. Within the compact space we drew attention to the baking and decorating process by framing the large opening to the kitchen. While the customer areas are painted with playful pastels that were inspired by the cake decorating art and the company’s branding, the kitchen area is bright white allowing the focus to be on the products as they are being made. The curved walls of the commercial space have been designed to facilitate customer flow while creating a softer ambiance.
